I sold a tune I composed as a ring tone!

Postby twirlycrack » Sat May 05, 2007 4:56 am

Been feeling ripped off by the mobile phone market. I worked as a sound editor/recordist and composer for years and to see people paying top dollar for ring tones that are ridiculously easy to make (and even worse back before polyphonic entered the scene) and using dreadful sound quality is enough to destroy my dreams. I've just come around to the other side. I sold my first ring tone at OffSpot (http://offspot.com/Default.aspx). It didn't happen overnight, had to put a few up there for a while, but sold a kickin' guitar riff and ya gotta love that passive income. Thought I'd pass this along for other musicians.
