Thank God For Evolution

Postby randy » Sun May 20, 2007 9:02 pm

Odd request--years ago--80's or very early 90's, Roger Williams Zoo in Providence had the animotronic Dino exhibit for the first time and had many great billboards around the state promoting it. One billboard had the saying Thank God For Evolution--with a picture that only showed the very bottom of a Pterydactal swooping in--(in other words-the extended claws coming in from the top of the billboard as if to pick up a passing by car )
Again--in the VERY CATHOLIC state of RI--this caused such an EXTREME controversy that the zoo was forced to take the billboard down lest we get struck by giant bolts of lightning. ( Remember--RI is the state that banned the Catholic Girls from coming to the state due to the song "God Made You For Me" andhad Billy Joels song "Only The Good Die Young" edited to remove the Catholic Girls comment )

Anyway--what Im looking for if anyone can find one--is a picture of that Billboard. When the controversy was going on I tried to snap a picture of it but I wad not quick enough--it was down Fast!!!
