Guitar Hero

Er, I mean...Guitar Heroes. The top 50 according to Gigwise at least:

http://www.gigwise.com/gallery?page=50&id=40852#gallery

Interesting inclusions for me:

#25 - Johnny Marr
#38 - Thursten Moore
#43 - Kevin Shields
#47 - Graham Coxon

I'm surprised Jimmy Page is at #2. As much as I love Page, he can be pretty sloppy. I guess they're not grading just on virtuosity but also influence.

They don't call Jimmy "weinner fingers" for nothing.

Just thinking that I would sorely loved to have seen Will Sergeant on the list. But...I understand he would have been a difficult fit with this crowd.

No Steve Stevens. Hes always shafted in these guitar lists and is the guy from Muse really that good to deserve such a high spot?

That list needs the always overlooked and underrated Lindsey Buckingham.

LOL! When I saw this thread I thought it was "Guitar Hero" the video game. Ha!

So here's the segue:

My kids got "Guitar Hero" for their Wii. After hearing "Barracuda" about 500 times I thought I'd have to make up some excuse to ground them from their video games for a week... Then, last week, it happened!!! I came home from school and they were "riffing" away... To "Holiday in Cambodia"! I was soooo proud. I bopped around the room and sung the lyrics... And my kids stopped playing and stared at me as if I was wearing a duck suit and playing the kazoo. Of course, now they are welcome to play Guitar Hero as much as they please.

There is justice and balance in life after all... It's hidden in places you don't expect. [:D]
