After Obama's speech today, one thing seems clear to me: If the republicans want to avoid a landslide defeat for McCain, they need to avoid controversies like this one which deliver Obama a center stage and media exposure. Obama knocked it out of the park, turning it into a showcase of his strengths and his vision.

Even if you think the guy didn't adequately address the Rev. Wright issue, you can bet the Hillary and McCain camps were crestfallen by that speech. That is exactly the opposite of what they needed, and it will be interesting to see how they both change tactics to score points in ways that deny Obama future opportunities of this kind.
