Toronto is a bitch of a place to park at the best of times, but it seems that any automated municipal parking lot can be easily had thanks to a design flaw in the ticket machines.

Apparently, this has been going on for years, and the favorite hack tool is an expired credit card. The machine is incapable of differentiating a valid card from an expired one.
Damn, why am I always the last to know?
