The Bruins finally won a first round series in about ten years. Don't know yet who'll they'll playing next. I hope it's not Washington . How's your team doing?

It won't be The Islanders

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Well, MTL was gone in four. No surprise there. They would have lasted longer if Markov and Schneider were not out. Oh well.

I'm hoping for Detroit and Pittsburgh. Shame that NYR didn't finish off Washington today. I liked Ovie, but after his stunt, he deserves to lose.

I started following the Canucks in the early 90's when Bure, the Russian Rocket, used to bring the crowd to it's feet whenever he had the puck. The 94 Stanley Cup run was amazing.

After all the intervening years of frustration, I jumped off the bandwagon on Dec 20 after witnessing the worst hockey of my life on what should have been an electric night - they retired Linden's jersey before the game. I haven't been to or watched a Canuck's game since.

Now the cheeky bastards are on to Round 2 with a 4-0 sweep of the Blues. I'm predicting a 7 game series loss in Round 2, in typical Canucklehead fashion.

I'd love to see Vancouver and Pittsburgh. But I doubt that's going to happen. So, seeing as my picks are usually a few rungs below Maggie the Monkey on the evolutionary prediction scale, I'll go out on a limb and say whoever comes out of the West takes it.

Oh and Pierre Maguire takes a puck to the mouth. I make that prediction every year too and my wish never comes true. Did I say wish? [:0]

I don't think there has been as good a final since. Bure was exciting to watch.

I hope Vancouver loses so that I don't have to hear them 24/7 on the radio.

Great games last night, esp. New York / Washington. Federov is my new hero...scores the winner with a seeing eye bullet, then tops it by taking out Avery.

I got up and walked away from the TV with 5 minutes left in the NJ / Carolina game. What a mistake! At least I could relive it second hand 30 minutes later on PVR.

I wish I could be excited about the playoffs. Does Hamilton Coyotes or Toronto Coyotes or Las Vegas Coyotes sound best? Looks like The Worst One won't be making the playoffs in Arizona. Seriously, the stadium is a million miles away, their best player is their coach and it costs a fortune to go. Our longtime Phoenix team folded as well this year, the RoadRunners, from the WHA, WHL, etc. Now this:

NHL loan keeps Coyotes operating

The NHL has loaned money to the Coyotes to keep the financially troubled franchise operating, but if the team fails to pay its debt the league can take the club over, according to the agreement.

The day after the team agreed to loan terms Feb. 24 with the NHL, it paid Glendale nearly $351,000 in overdue arena rent payments that dated to late summer 2008. The money also likely was used to meet player payroll.

Uh oh!

A Hamilton or Toronto move makes perfect sense and would in all likelihood sell out all 41 dates, so look for the team to re-locate to Las Vagas.

See, that's where Maguire would come in handy...you'd be so busy yelling at him to STFU, there'd be no time for sleep.
