<br>Stella you are mistaken God in the Old Testament is the same God in the New Testament. In fact God is more vengeful in the New than the Old. If you’re familiar with the Psalms you will notice phrases like “how long o’ Lord until you take vengeance for us” indicates that God in the O.T. is slow to anger and slow in taking justice. If you read the O.T you discover that God is not so much “Quid Pro Quo” in regards to dealing out swift justice. God is slow in regards so that his people can repent. In fact you don’t really see hard core bloody justice until you get to the New Testament. There God’s wrath is in full display on the cross directed at his son Jesus Christ (who is also God we are a Trinitarian faith) so that those who are God’s people by God’s grace will not receive the due penalty or force of God’s Wrath that in reality we all deserve hence Jesus died (took the wrath of God) for us believers. That is the gospel, save by God from the wrath of God. Amen!

Cheers,

I know the whole 3 god in one bit. I don't believe it. I don't believe if that creature exists it's god. Its behavior is too violent and mean. Now it's possible that man has twisted Gods words. Man is vengeful and mean, we invented God in our image. It's not that I don't believe in God, I just don't believe in this asshole.

Good grief, I don't know how in the world I missed this thread but I must say that it is definitely one of the most entertaining! I don't know what's funnier: Quite Life's hardlined and arrogant dogma (somehow the expression "strong & wrong" comes to mind) or every single other person's pecking him apart. It's a pity (for him, at least) he's unable to make any converts of any of us. But I'm glad to see that everyone else is on the same side. Love it when that happens [:D]

Whe any group has a parade, why not just let them? Who cares? Just don't slow traffic and have fun. It is way beyond me to understand why anyone would protest. It is actually a form of bullying. They have the right to march so we have the right to tell them they are wrong and must repent or burn. Live and let live. I really doubt anyone actually wants to help save soles. They say that but end up cursing and yelling.
Real religion is love. Thats it.

That was a great thread Marv...Quite Life was just as much the pompous self-righteous ass then as he is now.

um, maybe we can't be friends because you are a presumptuous, mean spirited, ignorant ASS lacking social skills and a penchant for a "holier than thou" approach?

Thanks philly, I'm on the NWO hub a lot, and I love chatting with the other members, I know from previous posts we have a lot in common and share a lot of the same musical interests. If you are ever on the hub, or consider joining, I would love to chat with you and check your music files out, I am sure you can find something in my folder, I am also on soulseek, if you have that we can get in touch there.

Man, did Sega Genesis not rule back in the day?!? When I had my attic redone as my kids' playroom, I so totally set that game console up in there [8D] You can buy the game cartidges for peanuts on eBay. I actually bought a second set bundled with the 32 bit expansion module and around five games for around $14 just so I could have the Star Wars one that was included[^]

LOL, even you and I were coming close to blows in that one! I have to say, you are a worthy adversary. But we can still blow it off and move on, which is good.

I'd like to chime in. I'm a Christian with an unshakeable faith. That being said, I DESPISE organized religion and particularly the conservative type espoused by folks such as Quite Life. Not only are their teachings often diametrically opposed to the expressed words and sentiments of Christ, but organized religion in general is usually much more about the "organization" than the "religion".

Christ was pretty much the biggest LIBERAL hippy of all time, yet he has been co-opted by the conservative element of this country and made to appear to stand for things which he would never, ever have stood for. Here's one example: The religious right has such a vehement hatred of homosexuality, yet their members spend a great deal of energy not only trying to make money, but also strongly fight against having to share it with anyone else (via welfare, taxes, whatever). You know how many times Christ himself spoke out against homosexuality? Zero. None. Not a single time. Yet he spoke out against the personal acquisition of wealth EIGHTEEN TIMES. Which do you think he was more concerned with as the bigger sin? He also commanded us to take care of the less fortunate, EVEN IF IT MEANT GIVING AWAY OUR LAST PENNY. Does that really sound like the Christ that the conservative religious right of America claims is on their side?

Anyway, I doubt I'll hang around this thread much to debate, but I thought I'd add my two cents in because I saw it being discussed on the hub.

I'll leave with one of my favorite movie quotes concerning Christ and many of his current "followers", which is amazingly spot on, despite being written by a Jew (Woody Allen):

"If Jesus Christ came back today and saw what was being done in his name, he'd never stop throwing up."
