You know how peaceful the world would be if music was the only means of communication? (and I'm not counting rap)

forgive me if this posts twice please.

Indeed the religious right is good at picking stuff out of the bible to support their cause. I'm not pushing a cause, I'm pushing history. History happened; Goring had this conversation with Gilbert. It expresses a basic truth about human beings that can and has been used to control them more than once.

Does it seem stupid to have foreigners guarding our ports? The Romans tried it and how it worked out is history. The Egyptians tried it and their generals became their pharaohs. When the president of the United States, lies, when he repeats the mistakes of history, I have to consider that he is either stupid and misled or actively persueing some other goal that is not in my intrests.. It's also possible that he's not in control, I consider that the twilight zone.

I know that the middle ground is most likely the truth but the middle is defined by the extreme, isn't it? A population controlled by the government, with spy video in every room delivering false news and listening to every word, that wages endless wars without which it would economically collapse, run by a sadistic fanatical bureaucracy isn't my vision, but if the shoe fits what then?

Not necessarily related to this thread, but your quote, which I like, reminds me of another quote I like:
"Revolution begins when the people who are defined as the problem gain the power to redefine the problem" - unknown

has noone noticed that the site stella is using for verification is snopes?...as in the urban legend site?

""Claim: Hermann Goering proclaimed that although "the people don't want war," they "can always be brought to the bidding of their leaders."

Status: True.

Example: [Collected on the Internet, 2002]""

Even if it is a true quote don't you think there would be a better reference site to quote from?

Anyhoo...

The only Bush I like is Kate Bush... as for George W. .... well, most people in the south hate him. I don't hate anyone but I really think he should analyse things and make better decisions as a president.

The quote is often sent as an email, which makes it a suspected urban legend. It may not pop up anywhere else but on snopes.

I honestly trust snopes as the authority in determining this type of thing. I wouldn't want them to advise me on non-myth stuff - but I'm very cool with them.

Blir hits the "Daily Double"!

What former U.S. President narrowly escaped impeachment for perjury, and obstruction of justice charges but eventually paid out over ONE MILLION DOLLARS in court fines and civil judgments in addition to his disbarment from practicing law in his home state of Arkansans while allowing BOTH an unprecedented transfer of military technology in exchange for illegal campaign contributions while ignoring a decade long rise in domestic Islamic terrorism that eventually led to the 9/11 atrocity?

I KNEW you were going to bring that up!!! Fair enough.

But everyone's culpable even going back to the Reagan administration for funneling support to Iraq for the killing of 1 million Iranian lives because but big deal, they were stupid Muslims and it was serving our purpose back then but now most of the Islamic world sees all of our past actions as bartering in their lives whenever and wherever it served our purpose. It's ugly on all fronts man.
