Stella, I think that it is very healthy to have many views on everything. I'm not rolling my eyes or debunking anything. I just gave my opinion. I don't think our government would blow up our own buildings and I don't think in this day and age they could get away with it anyway. I have a bunch of theories of my own but I am not letting them take over my life or my view on everything. I see the worst of humanity on a daily basis. Being a social worker, I have seen EVERYTHING. But I still love life and enjoy myself. Now stop picking on me or I'll report you !
(see? Thats a joke![:D])
I get that there are many theories but I don't knock them so I should not be knocked for thinking (caugh caugh) that the towers were hit by terrorists and not by us.
BTW, I am starting to think that you are a good adition to the board. You can take the sarcasm which we all use. So this post is just my view and no hard feelings or jabs are being made. I do agree that the conspirasy stuff is interesting.

IMVHO,
there wouldn't be conspiracy theories unless there weren't any questions to begin with. I don't mean the 9-11 thing. But for example: JFK...conspiracies arose b/c there were so many coverups! If you've ever seen the Warren Commission's documents, there are more blacked out sections than readable sections. Modern conspiracy theories began merely b/c folks wondered why so many answers were missing. Given that governments engage in highly classified, secret dealings, I think it's natural that people ask questions and pose theories.

I consider myself to be a bit of a conspiracy buff. I think the reasonable approach is to be skeptical and consider all the facts in an event, yet having Occam's Razor ("entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem" or "entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity" or in actual real English: The simplest explanation that fits the parameters of a problem is probably the right one) foremost in your mind while considering things.

And of course keeping the mind the most sucessful conspiracies are the ones nobody knows about.[:p]

Thanks egg.

Wolfie, there were several eyewitness accounts of what hit the pentagon in the video. There are two versions of LC, the one I saw is the second, with added footage. It's true that no one saw a 757.

The thing I have the least problem with is the idea that our government would do this. That's why I push history so hard. To apply Occam's razor you need to know first what happened and understand what is possible. Separating fact from fiction is the first step.

This is a life and death issue. If our government is involved, if it was allowed to happen, if it's been used to control us, than you got to ask what kind of life your kids going to have and consider raising your family else where.

Steel changing states
Question: Could steel change from a solid to gas?
fairview

Answer:
Steel is a form of iron. Steel melts at about 1300 degrees Celsius
(2400 Fahrenheit). It's boiling point is about 3000 C (or 5400 F).
To generate that much heat would be astounding! Even when you get to
the boiling point, you would have to keep adding energy to vaporize
the steel. I haven't been able to come across a value for the amount
of heat needed for this either (called "delta H of vaporization"), but my
guess would be that it is very high since the vapor pressure of molten
steel is probably very low (vapor pressure is a measure of a liquid's
tendency to go to the gas phase). If your question meant can steel go
directly from solid to gas (which is called sublimation, what 'dry ice'
does), no.

I heard the audio portion of that documentary on WBAI (during the fund drive no less). I'm less inclined to believe the "our government is evil" theories and more inclined to agree with the "our government is hopelessly inept and run by morons" argument. There's far more evidence to support that theory.

From Bush to Clinton to Bush to Reagen to Carter and on and on and on....[V]

Although I don't believe our goverment is evil, There's no denying goverment agencies have done some pretty heinous things. Even in the last century or so. No conspiracies here. Just fact. Examples:
The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment--Courtesy of the U.S. Public Health Dept.
Project MK Ultra--Courtesy of the CIA
Operation Paperclip--Courtesy of the OSS

and others.
I'm sure we'd all like to believe that in the 21st century that such things wouldn't happen. I hope so, too, but we can never be sure.[:0]

I'd love to be able to put a timetable on a third party candidiate getting in (not that that would mean there would'nt be corruption inevitably) but too many Americans are too wrapped up in this two-party system. They've been spoonfed this horseshit..."Democrats over here..Republicans over there" as if there's no alternative or as if these two alledged "parties" did'nt have the same message: "GIVE US YOUR MONEY, YOU HALF-WITS!!"[:(!]

I replied to one of the previous posts here about a third party candidate. It'll never happen as long as the two candidates are in power, but I agree completely with your statement

Yeah, probably not in our lifetime. The "Republicrat" money machine is too powerful.
