Well ghostly, you got the big gun your car. I used to feel the same way about pedestrians but when I'm walking I usually don't go to the nearest cross walk to cross unless it’s close, particularly if I'm carrying something heavy, if it’s raining, if it's cold. The guy in the car is dry, warm, got his cd and cell phone and his Starbucks. When it comes to adults with children I go berserk. I've been known to get out of my car and start ranting about cleaning up the gene pool.

oh bummer ghosty, but good rant too.

But for sure, I frequently come across these same topics as you brought up, in my everyday exchanges with friends, co-workers, and neighbors. MOst around me are fairly liberal and do not like Bush (and some are conservative and don't like him either), but we still talk about it.

The phone thing seems crazy, though. I normally avoid the phone, and don't have friends who call up like that. However, I teach teenagers, and they are the MASTERS at the Useless Phone Call with one another. Argh! Imagine how we all survived our childhoods w/out cell phones.[;)]
