I loved all 1500+ pages of Infinite Jest (especially the numerous footnotes), but I got the impression that DFW got sick of writing or had a deadline to meet and just ended the book without tying up the plot. It needed another 500 pages or so.

Watch out for the Quebecois Wheelchair Assasins. When you hear the sqeak, it's too late!

Another IJ reader! I always feel a sort of fellowship when I meet someone else who has read and enjoyed this book.

The "ending" frustrated me off when I first read it, but I don't know if I've ever had more fun reading a book. IJ is really challenging, very funny, a compelling story, and has great characters (my screen name here is named after one of them), plus I learned a lot of great new words and phrases, like "howling fantods".
