I'd like to write-in the day after Steak & BJ Day.

Serious note - sorry to hear about your wreck KYYX. That's truly frightening. I got called to the scene of an accident where my wife and all 3 kids were t-boned. I didn't have any details except that they wanted to take them by ambulance for precautions. I got to the scene to see our SUV completely totaled, even to the point that one of its axles was torn from the car.

I have never felt stone cold fear like I did walking up that accident scene. You can imagine what was running thru my head. I was amazed to find just bumps and bruises, but everyone had the shakes, BAD, for quite a few days after. And it's true what they say, most accidents happen close to home - this was just a few blocks away. Glad they were alright, otherwise, my life would have been OVER.

Zill, I am sorry to hear about your little brother.[:(]
It is very, very hard when there is a anniversary of a loved ones passing during the holidays. My sister in law passed away in 1990 on Christmas Eve which was also her birthday.

KYYX4ever, I am so happy that you are okay. Of course that is the most important thing.
But that Duster was your baby!! What are you going to drive now?

As for the question. I didn't think any of those days were really depressing.

And Zill, I'm so sorry to hear such sad news [V] I can't even imagine such difficulty.

As for the poll, I went with the first Monday at work after Daylight Savings ends. From what I remember when working for the man, looking out the window around five o'clock and seeing how dark and cold it was outside was enough to make me depressed. Although, listening to other people's definition of depression, I feel like I'm abusing the word. I'm very fortunate that that Monday's my worst day of the year [|)]

Having been in the same boat as KYYX and zill, I sympathize with both of you. I'm not really good at the touchy-feely crap, but when you walk away from a serious accident with no serious injuries, you should always consider yourself blessed. Even if you're more materialistic than I am.

zill - sorry for your loss. It is admirable that you let the kids have their day in spite of your pain.

KYYX - I'm so glad you are OK. Take your time getting back. The loss of your great car is tough but trivial compared to your well-being. The Duster is solid - it really did save your life!

The worst day OTY is easily the first work day after New Years. Holidays are gone. No more Peace On Earth, no more Good Will To Men. Not a day off ('cept weekends) for 4 bleak, dreary months (my employer doesn't care about MLK, GW or Honest Abe). Driving to work [:(] thru filthy slush, past spent Christmas trees callously tossed by unknown assholes. Frigid gray inversion (local meteorological phenomonon) slowly sucking away all hope.
Santa, please, give me a pistol for Christmas.

Write in vote= June 11. A Holiday I made up called "Broken Hearts Day". The day I mourn the loss of the one that got away...It's celebrated by getting all your friends as piss drunk as you want to be and toasting to lonliness....sort of the opposite of V Day...

I guess any day can be depressing to be honest. When somebody you know dies, that's always the most depressing day, my best friend's Dad died this year. Actually there's been quite a few depressing days this year as usual! [:(]
