Cloverfield...the movie??????

Wow, now I am truly intrigued. I've heard people raving about this movie and you guys are all giving it the thumbs down. Maybe my colleagues are a bunch of artsy, pretentious posers.
I remember watching a late 90's Danish film The Celebration that also used a lot of handheld cameras and it is hard to watch for an extended period of time.
I was told to watch the guy on the sofa at the party and stay until the end of the credits and listen carefully. Do I have to run the film backwards too for it to make sense?
My friend was excited because they played Architecture in Helsinki at the party scene.

I saw it last night and thought it was good. The cam is a bit shaky but that is what adds to it (don't sit too close). That and the feeling you get of being trapped in there with them. I recommend it.
