So do I hutter but how do we get that back? People watch or it wouldn't be there. Ratings right? Half of us tune in for news, half for Paris Hilton and the result is a free market at work.

I don't know what news you guys watch - but I think a total of 2 minutes a night are devoted to entertainment on my local news.
Personally, I don't like all the crap segments like recipes, Mrs. Fixit, easy remodeling tips, etc. There's got to be more important things happening than how to polish your toilet tank handle.
