What do you consider the most RUDE?

Wow - great story Somebody! I always feel like an oblidiot tipping anything for bad service, but of course in U.S. culture, you have to tip for everything. Someone holds a door, you tip; they give you a paper towel in the john, you tip; they smile at you, you tip. Ridiculous. I've only stiffed someone on a tip once in my life, and that's because it was absolutely dreadful and unfriendly service (and at Islands, no less, where they're usually very good).

I like the penny tip. I'd love to think people who get that would get the message but it probably just pisses them off more. My buddy Joe and friends were at a Sizzler once, and even though he didn't order the salad bar (or anything else) he was nibbling off his buddy's. The waitress asked him not-so-politely to stop doing it or they'd have to charge him. Now I'm squarely in her court on this (he shouldn't have been eating if he didn't pay) but according to him she was a real bitch about it, so they left a penny tip. As they were leaving, the waitress ran up to their car, yelled "here's your tip back!" and threw it at their car, hitting their windshield. Was he right? Absolutely not. Was she? Probably even less so.

One last thought about people in the service industry. The one that really gets me is people who mumble "thankyouhaveaniceday" as you're leaving their store. I'd really they rather say nothing than give me a well-wishing they don't mean. One day I'm going to look the person square in the eye and say "pull no punches - you just don't give a two-shilling shit what kind of day I have, do you? Honestly?"

Oh I agree about the threshold thing but if it was me I'd be havign an OCD moment and would probably be trying to stop myself from stepping in and out of it!(NO juoke I relaly do have OCD)It's the people that get to the escaltor and stop that get to me especially when your trying to step off the thing, those things can be dangerous, I don't want my foot shredded thankyou!

I never left a penny but its a great idea. When I got bad service, I left $1. But next time instead, I will talk to the manager when leaving. Thats worse than the penny tip. And they can't throw anything or yell at you. It really sucks because I know they work hard...well some of them. Hussle for me and I tip well.

Skin color was not referenced in my post. It was more a play on the cliche of the stereotypical convenience store clerk a la "The Simpsons". However, there are those that come from different cultures who refuse to learn the local customs, language, etc. Yet some of them expect those of us indigenous to this country to kowtow to their ways. Sorry, if I wanted to learn that I'd move to a grass shack in Bumfuck.

I mean, why the F should we have to pay taxes to get voting ballots printed in Chinese or any other language? You think if you go to other foreign countries you will be able to vote with a ballot printed in English?

BTW I'm glad you have such respect for the old lady. Just don't get behind her when she fires up her Subaru.

Cel phone driving isn't being rude. It's being a stupid, selfish asshøle. Maybe that's a form of rudeness. Wearing a headset does not improve the driving abilities, except for maybe turning a corner. The problem is they are not paying attention. I recently had one sh1thead in an SUV tailgating me for miles untill I slowed to 5mph and he still would NOT go around me and I KNEW he was on the phone. HE WAS SO engrossed in his conversation he just attached himself to me until I stopped my car on a main road (Lido BLVD) by the old Malibu nightclub and put my hazards on and he finally went around me. I saw a cop and told him and the cop went after him! But I don't think he caught him.

As far as parking is concerned...hogging spots only bothers me when there is no parking spots available. I park my car miles from anyone else and someone will STILL PARK NEXT TO ME!!! Most people have this theme park parking mentality where they can't park unless they are next to someone else. I don't take up two spaces, but I can understand how someone is sick of having some stupid %$@! opening their door and dent their car.
I'll be at Home Depot with the lot almost empty...but still you see all these cars and SUV's jammed up against each other by the entrance because people are too lazy to walk another 50 feet.
