Funny how you're the one to resort to personal attacks first. The bottom line is trying to find converts to your love of AFTC on this board has roughly the same odds of Gary Coleman bringing Bea Authur to orgasm on national television. Georgie and his idiotic,often incomprehensible posts, crypto-theocractic nonsensical musings, and his passive/agressive nature of alternating between bragging about how great his lifestyle is and brandishing attacks of the family members of Outposters who dared to disagree with him, basically sealed his fate here. Between all that noise even the one or two posters here who might have taken a liking to, um, music such as "violins" basically said, "the hell with it and the hell with him".
I personally don't like AFTC's music. There are other bands dicsussed on this board that I don't much care for either, but as Tiger pointed out the masterminds of those bands don't show up at the Outpost and systematically piss off most of the posters on this board. Music taste is just that and everyone has a different opinion, but the fact is Georgie's presence here made it nigh-impossible for any one to take him, or by inference, his music seriously.
My advice to you is to ignore all posts related to Georgie and AFTC-in the end you'll save yourself a lot of aggrevation.

I think it is cool that someone who actually released music in the 80's posts here, that being said he has have come off as quite abrasive to many here. I have tried listening to his music and it just doesn't appeal to me. If you like it more power to you, but as said before you will be forever linked to Georgie through jokes. I just hope no one ever finds out about my secret room with the Air Supply posters plastered all over the walls.[:D]

Can I just say I DID NOT expect this from these boards. This is called the "New Wave Outpost" not the "We Hate Apart From The Crowd" message boards. To see such prejudiced and insensitive people belittling a NEW WAVE band as such should be banned in a place like this. I get that you all hate them, I just don't understand why you have to keep laying into them at every possible opportunity. One of my first topics when I joined here was the "Bands you could never get into" thread http://www.nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23623 , and I'm pretty sure NOBODY mentioned AFTC there. I wanted to get a feel of which bands were unpopular around here, and I was pleased to see we all had different tastes. The only prejudiced and insensitive person I know on this board was band member and AFTC cheerleader Georgie Rockwood aka Bosten. He spewed hatred on quite a few of his posts and in his own very Christian way wished harm on a members wife. So if you want to stick to talking about new wave music, I would only read and post on the other threads here. This is a thread for anything other then new wave music.
Hopefully this is just a misunderstanding and you can move on from all the hysteria when someone jokes about Georgie and his band.
