Even though Obama was not my first choice. I am feeling very proud to be an American right now.

I do feel bad for Tina Fey, SNL, Colbert,Stewart, Olbermann. For the next four years they will have no funny juicy material to work on

Wow, what is it with the Obama/Hitler comparisons? I've seen and heard a lot of that over the last several months. Must be the "Audacity of Hyperbole". As I mentioned above, I am not enamored of Obama's economic policies--and I'm certainly not a big fan of his, but some of the rhetoric I've heard recently is quite surprising. For example on a talk radio show I recently heard a caller describe Obama as "pure evil"

Really? Pure Evil? Time for a reality check, folks: Hitler and Stalin were "pure evil" You may dislike the man and/or his policies, but neither he nor McCain deserve that epithet.

I am a little shocked too. I think both men are honorable. I never viewed this a choice between races. It was a choice between candidates and who was better equipped to right the listing ship.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Not saying he is evil, just that both were able to influence people through their oratory skills. I give his handlers credit for taking a page out of the Ronnie Reagan playbook for 1980. They both touted the change, hope, and return to restoring America's world stature following administrations that faltered mightily.

The pendulum has duly swung in the opposite direction for a good reason. Give the man a chance, I say. The dust hasn't even settled and they're passing absolute and final judgment on him. It's times like these that I'm reminded of why I'm an independent.[V]

I am ready to roll up my shirtsleeves and get to work.

Man, I am giddy and excited and proud and amazed. Seeing the celebrations all around me was profound. People honking their horns, people cheering...up and and down my street, people turning on their porchlights and looking proud and amazed as well. It is such an amazing feeling to have a young, energetic couple in the WH again, and being able to look at his image and hear his words without cringing...oh man, what a fabulous feeling. I liked how in his acceptance speech last night, he said "I will listen to you." What a refreshing change from what we have now ! My eyeballs hurt from all the tearing up. Thank you, everyone, for choosing hope over fear.
