Great post...

"Irwin deserves credit for pulling nature programs out of the doldrums of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. Unfortunately, he seems to have chosen MTV's Jackass as the program to fuse it with in order to do so. That is not so much to his credit."

Amen.

A most sobering article, Plagiarism - thanks! And people, you know you don't need my permission to post your jokes as you know you don't need Craig's instigation to stop posting them. (How small a person can one be? Is this what he resorts to in person as well? In any one-on-one debate? To ignore his opponent's argument and attempt to create a mob mentality among bystanders?) Humor is great - it feeds the soul. Go for it. I enjoy it. And I'm sure Irwin would have gotten a kick out of it too since he always seemed to have that kind of self effacing personality.

Hey craig: you took the tragedy of a man's untimely death to make yourself look big. That makes you a dick.

That's right, Marv, I'm a dick.

And you use an internet message board to express your childish anger by personally attacking those who's viewpoints you cannot tolerate. Even at the risk of compromising the ethical boundaries of your position as a moderator. Nobody here can ever trust you again to use good wisdom and judgement in your duties as such.

Not that that matters to you as your personal vendetta and campaign to make the world a better place by name calling and attempting to use shame to make your point, takes precedence over everything else. You must be very proud. I'm sure Irwin would have been happy to have you as one of his fans.

You are a fascist.

I'll take being a dick over that anytime.

LOL, whatever...this is so over - ok, big shot! You win! I most certainly cannot win against hypocrisy and double standards!

The funny thing is that during an off-line conversation with another forum member last night, I was convinced to just leave you alone. That it was a "one time" thing and that you were an otherwise "OK" guy. PMSL.....

P.S. - next time try addressing my posts point by point or supporting your statements with some fact [:(]

His death seems to have affected a lot more people than your normal celebrity death. He'll be missed.

I have watched the tributes to him over the past couple of days.
I am surprised how really upset I was over his death. He was a guy who was respected by his peers and had a passion for wildlife. How cool is that? He was lucky enough to make a living by doing what he loved to do. He was a great personality.
I hope his death brings more awareness to the shrinking habitats of animals and something good comes out of it. Everyone who knew him said the only thing he was more passionate about was his family. A women lost a husband, and two young children lost a dad. It is really a sad, sad, ending to a really spectacular life.

Definitely sad and shocking news. While I wasn't a huge fan of his and I sometimes felt he made himself out to be a bit of a caricature who was often reckless as if he considered the wild his personal playground (and where did the 'hunter' part enter into it?), BUT I know his heart was in the right place (no pun intended, puh-leese). I like to think of him as a big kid who never outgrew the child-like wonderment of the natural world around him. His enthusiasm was certainly unmatched and for all the 'bad' he supposedly did, it should certainly be trumped by the awareness he helped bring to the cause of wildlife preservation. In the end, his pluses outweigh his minuses. I still don't find any of the others like Jeff Corwin to be as engaging as him. You'll be missed, mate.

No, but I think that if he had to square off with a vicious killer rabbit, he might be lucky to escape with only a nibble of the bum.[:D]
