Ironically, Sinatra's idol and eventual rival Bing Crosby was the main financer of the Ampex company and convinced the recording industry to switch from cutting masters on acetate discs to the higher fidelity reel-to-reel tape. In a roundabout way, without Bing Crosby no one would've been able to make mix tapes.[:D]
...or learn the secret to beating their kids with bags of oranges so they don't leave marks.

Oh, I mean Fleet Foxes. Saw them play, I guess you'd call it a song, on Conan. It's like somebody took a bunch of old Crosby, Stills and Nash records, erased all the hooks (and any reason for existing), and called it a new band.

Dishonorable mention to Arcade Fire -- although they at least are pretty much yesterday's news.

What!!! Are you saying the emperor doesn't have beautiful new clothes!!![:D] Blasphemy, heresy!!

[:0] I think I used basically the same exact reference when telling Blir I could not get into them. Oh Well.

The beauty of music that moves you...you feel absolutely no need to explain it to anyone else or have them get it. Take Schwenko dancing in his leotards to the Ting Tings for example...he couldn't care less what we think of him! [:o)]
Leonard Cohen. Wuddup with this guy? All the critics and uber-cool music snobs seems to love this guy. I've really really tried to see what they're talking about. He's so fucking BORING!!!

Some of it really is downright boring, but some of it really struck a chord with me. I like a lot of the songs from Death Of Ladies Man. A lot of people hated that album...[}:)]
