Supposedly, some kids at the high schools here in LV were going to do the same. Call me cynical, but I doubt 99% of them know what they are protesting or standing up for. I think they're all just eager to skip classes.

That quote says it all, XXX. I'm sorry, but if you're living here, going to American schools, taking American handouts, YOU ARE NOT MEXICAN. You might be of Mexican descent, and God bless ya, feel free to be proud of your heritage, but YOU ARE NOT MEXICAN.

It also made my blood boil at a USA-Mexico soccer game about five years ago at the Rose Bowl, where some of the Mexican supporters pelted the USA players with water balloons ... filled with urine. Nice. I wouldn't even forgive it if it was done by people living in Mexico who were just visiting for the game, but to think it was probably mostly done by guys living in the USA ... pathetic.

Are there a lot of Mexicans in NYC? Honestly, I can't say I've really heard anyone call themselves Mexican up here.

I'm guessing not as much as in most other places. They work the fruit stands and in diners but honestly its so mixed in NY you really don't have one group sticking out more than others. I love that about NY!

THe beef is not with the Puerto Ricans... Puerto Rico is the 51st state, isn't it?[:D] It's pretty much all along the southern border. It's outta control down here with people crossing illegally.

Yes, it's pretty out of control. You want to immigrate to our country? Fine, you're welcome to it--come legally, nothing's stopping you. But being here illegally is just that--[i]illegal[/i]. Why some of these folks think they have rights when they're not even citizens is beyond me. On the other hand, most of them work, and while they're making more money in their jobs than they might ever make back home, it's sad b/c they're not paying into soc. security, not paying taxes, and not paying for any kind of health care. Where a giant problem has emerged is in the hospitals and emergency rooms across the southwest, filled full of illegals who use the ER as their primary health care. The hospitals, who have policies wherein they can't refuse care regardless of a person's legal status, or ability to pay, are overwhelmed.

Well said, KYYX. I'd hate for any of our international NWO members to think we're all "Ugly Americans", but we do have a legitimate concern about illegal aliens, and you hit it on the head nicely.
