The Harder They Come

Postby ben_at_work » Tue Apr 11, 2006 4:50 am

I caught a viewing of a movie i hadnt seen in years. A Jamacian film called "the Harder they Come" Starring Jimmy Cliff. I remember seeing it as a teen in SoCal and being mesmerized by the music. Anywho, I caught it on the Sundance channel so if you like that kind of music you should check your local listings for another airing. Here's the title song from the movie.

Jeez...I haven't heard of this one in years. I used to have it on VHS, and wore it out when I was in my "all things reggae" phase. Good lil' flick.

OMG, I remember this! It was in the early 80s and I had just seen Countryman and bought that soundtrack on vinyl (which I still have). Someone said to check this out too. Both are classics. Cool stuff.

REMAKE!!!!!!
FFS!!! You cant remake a film like that... it was the first film made in Jamacia and they didnt use actors. The church Choir scenes were worth the price of admission alone. [}:)]
