Hey Party People! Tech Question.

Ok, I need some great music for my back yard parties. Now all my good stuff is on the computer. Instead of burning cd's, I want to run speakers out in the yard. I don't want to go all high tech and spend a ton of money, but how could I do this? What I did for the basement was run headphone extension wire to the basement and just put computer speakers down there and plugged into my pc speakers upstairs. Crude but it works.Any ideas?

I bought a low fm band transmitter for about 60 bucks. It broadcasts about 70 feet. Just plugs into any headphone jack and you pick the frequency you want to braodcast on. I can actually listen to mine in the garage out on the patio, ot on the deck pretty much anywhere. Well worth the investment. and you can broadcast your ipod too. It only about the size of a pcak of cigarettes, AC/DC.

[8D] The way I have done it in the past is with two cd players and a mixer hooked - up to an amp. but if you want to do this with just a P.C. and you don't have any D.J. mixer software, you can simply just hook up your P.C. directly to an amp and simply organize your music to a folder in the order that you whish to play it. use what ever media player that you have and just open that folder. If you have a lot of requests, I would have like 2 folders one for misc. music and requests and one folder for like when you want to go join the party or use the potty. Also spice things up with lights and that type of stuff. I don't know how tech you want to get but when I use to D.J. I would also use a DVD player hooked up to 2 TV's and the audio hooked up to my mixer. anyway good to see you again and good luck with your parties. [8D]

Jeezus, just get a stereo miniplug to RCA converter cable at Radio Shack, use that to hook your computer to your stereo and out to its speakers which you'll just plop outside using extra-long speaker or lamp cable.

Lamp cable? I always use elctrical cord myself. I suppose lamp cable for a little "light" dinner music and electrical cord for more electronic progressive stuff.[;)]
