District B13

Here are four words I never thought I'd say:

Good French Action Movie (but I'm not counting Brotherhood of the Wolf as an action movie)

My wife and I just saw District B13 (aka "Banlieue 13"), and we really enjoyed it. Part Escape from New York, part Jackie Chan, and truly amazing stunt work. It isn't gonna win any oscars, the plot is fairly cliched, but it's a lot of fun if you like this kind of thing. It's didn't seem like there was much wire work and I didn't notice any computer generated effects. The two lead actors are really very acrobatic. Great fight scenes, etc.

According to IMDB, it was released in France in 2004, but it's just now playing in theaters in the States.

LOL. Thanks for the tip. I'm gonna check it out.

PS. Don't forget La Femme Nikita.

I just got this off of e-bay. French language but english sub-titles. Luc Besson writer/producer produced ong bak thai warrior among others. I think Tony Jaa's "Tom yum goong" is still by far the best but District 13 is pretty goo. Wish they didn't have so much bulding jumping though.
