I just picked this little gizmo up and am loving it!!!!

Now I can play my music on my home stereo wirelessly.
There are other devices available but the cost and user friendliness of this one did it for me.
Anyone else have one of these or another brand yet?

Hey yeah I am using something like this at one my office locations, pretty slick. What I use at home is actually an fm transmitter that hooks up to any headphone jack and then broadcasts out to any fm radio. With this the transmitter is only the size of a pack of smokes and has a brodcast range of around 75 ft and cost around 60 bucks.

Not nearly as sexy as yours Abs but has a pretty decent set of features nonetheless.

Just curious to know if you guys could comment on the sound quality of these devices. When I bought my i-Pod I got a cassette adaptor with the car kit. After experiencing the joys of tape hiss once again, I went back to the store where I purchased the i-Pod & bought the FM modulator to broadcast on my car's radio. This device made tape hiss seem desirable. It cut the low & top ends off so severely I never used it again, except when my cassette adaptor broke & I couldn't get to the store to get a new one for several days. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

[/quote]The above 'streaming' devices work on the same 802.11 wireless technology as wireless routers, so they essentially transmit AV content as it would via a wired ethernet connection.

Given that, the automotive audio adaptors are definitely NOT in the same league since they utilize analog RF (FM) technology. (Although the quality of some RF units is considerably better than others)

I also have the same issue with the RF car adaptor I bought earlier this year <a href="http://www.gadgetmadness.com/HealthGear-1077068-B000EO771W-MP3_WMA_FM_Transmitter_with_USB_Port_Audio_Input" target="blank">(VRFM8W)</a>
Although it renders USB memory stick devices mp3 playable as well as taking the source output from any stand alone audio device, it really does not deliver the audio fidelity I've come to expect from my vehicle sound system. Not to mention the crowded FM bandwith severely limits the available 'relatively quiet' frequencies for which to transmit on.

Hardwired auto adaptors are definitely the way to go, though they are pricey and not readily compatible with many late model factory installed car audio systems such as mine.

Thanks for your input 2NU. Glad to know that the home units don't use FM modulators.

As for the car, I would love to have a hard-wired unit but am driving a company vehicle for the next several months.

Funny I was just thinking recently about what vehicle to purchase when my company lease expires. It's amazing how priorities have changed over the years. A long time ago it would have been styling or horsepower that swayed my decision. Nowadays I would drive just about anything that had an mp3 input jack in the factory stereo!

I demoed one of those Roku Soundbridges. It was one of the better wireless audio streaming things. I like how they made the WiFi a compact flash card, so that it can be upgraded to G later on (so as not to bog down the rest of your wireless networking to B speeds).

You can telnet to the device and have it scroll messages [:)].

It's a bit more money, but I'm more inclined to get an old notebook, install a WiFi card, and connect that to a stereo instead. Easier navigation.
