I apologize if there's been a poll on something like this before. Stella got me thinking with her recent concert story where this group of guys snaked their way in front of her - people are just fricking rude nowadays! So on that note ... which of the following do you consider most rude or obnoxious? Or if you think something else is worse, post away!

I voted for the last one, rude customer service workers. Unlike all the other choices (i.e. regular people being rude), people employed in customer service are PAID to be polite and helpful. There is no excuse for them to be rude and not helpful. Sure, everybody has a bad day now and then, but if you can't be nice most of the time, then you shouldn't work in customer service!

Customer Service - tough job. Having to listen to shit all day with a smile: I don't know how they do it. I'd be willing give them the benefit of the doubt because you don't know who else has inflicted their wrath on them earlier in the day.

People who take 2 parking spots gets my vote. Nothing says "I'm better than you" more than that selfish act, esp. in the malls at Christmas time.

I couldn't vote for just one, all annoy me to death. One word covers all candidates. "OBLIDIOTS" a word my wife and I came up with that covers the combo "oblivious idiots". The ones that bother me the most are the ones you don't have the option to cal them on. I do not hesitate to bring to the oblidiots attention ther shear lack of consideration or rudeness if I get the opportunity, but other drivers frustrate me the most as you can't confront them. I do not hesitate for a second to point out to a cashier that they did not once make eye contact or acknowledge the completion of the transaction or some other rude ,thoughtless action.

I have to go with people who make noise in movie theaters (or any other place where it's a given--to the rest of us--that you need to shut up. At the library last night, I was looking for this week's pile of books to read and this girl a few feet behind me was flipping through the CD bins so incredibly loudly. Flip, flip, flip, flip. I wanted to punch her. Hell, my two small daughters were with me and they had the sense to know that we were at a library and kept quiet.

How about retarded cashiers who, once you HAND them your money, place your change on the counter in front of you. Like they couldn't F***ing have the consideration to reach out the extra inch to place the change directly in your hand.

Now you gotta scrape the change off the counter top, trying to pick up pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters while juggling your item, your receipt and your wallet. Of course, everybody behind you in line has to wait while you do this.

Then the retarded cashier wonders why their frickin line is so long.

Hey Punjab, I put the money DIRECTLY in your formerly rickshaw pulling hand, now save us all some time and aggravation and give me my change back the same way. It's called common courtesy.

And no, I don't want a Slushie with that.

Shadow - I wish I could share with you a photo I took earlier this year with my camera (don't know how to upload those) of a parking lot at my client in Canada. The parking lot was set up so that there were two rows of spots that touched each other, then a space to drive through, then two more rows, etc., kinda like this: (imagine each twosome of T's is touching)

Each day I was there, some guy parked his car over FOUR spots. The center of his car was parked directly on the intersection of the horizontal and vertical lines. Not only that, he made sure to park immediately to the right of a lamppost so nobody could squeeze in to his left.

It wasn't a horribly crowded parking lot, so we weren't hurting for parking spaces. But still, the arrogance of this guy really made me wanna key his car (not that I'd ever do that to him or anyone). "You think your car's better than all of ours? Take THIS!" [}:)]

I used to date a girl who would talk during movies. She'd say something in full volume, then I'd whisper a response to kind of give her a hint that she should be quiet. She didn't get it.

I overheard this this woman talking to her friend recently:

"So right in the middle of the movie, this girl's cell phone goes off behind us. She answers it and starts talking to the person! I turn around and ask her to be quiet, and she glares at me and says 'Do you MIND??? I'm on the PHONE!!!' "

It reminded me of a newspaper article I once read, something like "how to tell if you're a jerk." One of the ones on the list was "If someone asks you to be quiet in a movie theater and YOU get offended, you're a jerk."

[/quote]Exactly how I felt when I cast my vote for the "rude customer service workers".

Yes the cell phone people are bad, and if they are in a movie, they could put the phone on vibrate and when the get a call, answer it with a "hold on" and then walk out of the theatre to talk. Doesn't really bother me in a restaurant, but I don't go to fine dining establishments either -- maybe if I was paying $100 for a dinner I would care, but for $10-15 I could care less if someone is on the phone.

In a restaurant, really what's the difference between them talking on the phone or to another person at the table, as long as the volume of their voice is the same as conversation level volume?

Anywhere else in public I don't care. It's a public world... if you are on the street, you have the right to talk.

All of the above. I'm pretty easy going, but you just made a list of things that make me violent. I just want to hit all those people.

People that let doors slam in your face when they can see yoru loaded with stuff, people that bump into you walk on your feet and don't apologise, Peopel that put their legs out on public transport so you have to tak ea big stride to get over them, people who try to get on the bus/tram/train etc before you get off when you have alot of shopping, peopel that bloody stare at you like they have never seen a woman with pink hair before-take a bloody photo! Yep there's so many and lest we forget the classic,go through a green light and try and mow you down when you have the right of way to walk across the street! Now I'm pissed off...[V][:(!][|)]
