I saw this coming a mile away! Money talks, wierdo's walk.
Now he has more time to spend with his un-wife and invisible baby.

Does this mean Mel should be prepared for a tap on the shoulder?

In some strange way I find a sense of joy from all this.

I don;t care what movie it is or how good it is supposed to be, I've not seen anything with this guy in it since Top Gun. Even then, there was something in his mannerisms that showed his clear love of how holier than thou he thinks he is.

Still, people will continue to fork over money to see a movie with his name on it.

To each their own I guess. For me, no movie is that good that I'll donate a cent that might make it into his pockets.

He's probably a billionaire by now so don't feel too bad for him.

War of the Worlds was a pretty good movie, though I saw it on HBO and a dvd from the library.

People will still go see his movies and even if Paramount drops him, some other studio will be happy to make a business deal with Tom Cruise.

I guess Paramount decided thay had to get rid of him. I was pleased to hear the news. That smug, arrogant prick. But I agree with the aforementioned point: he'll get a deal somewhere else sooner probably than later.

He should ask his cult to finance his next movie. Maybe that will smarten him up, once they say hell no.

Here's an article from the Financial Times that talks about how much Cruise was making.

Anyone a bit smart would eventually desert on TC.... no wonder the studios did so.

Don't worry, his fake girlfriend will take off too. Her career has not been so great as promissed by Tom.

I don't think she'll ever amount to anything ever again. Not that she was a half-way decent actress before. But she sure committed career suicide when she took on the role as his beard.

Nicole Kidman came out of it OK, but I don't get the same vibe from Katie.

Check out these pix featuring a very trapped-looking Katie and a fuzzy Suri:
