Ever been screwed over by a friend?
Over the years I have lived alot, and I developed a thick skin because I have been screwed over by many people. But it really sucks being betrayed by a friend. I have hundreds of stories. Thank God I do have a handfull of friends that I would trust my life with and I have known forever. They would never betray our friendship.
Anyway....a story! (hurray, a philly story)
OK, it was my birthday! And my best friend at the time was throwing me a suprise party along with my girlfriend. The party was great and all then everyone got wasted. I fell asleep with girlfriend on the couch. Best friend went to the bedroom. Well I woke up around 6 am....alone. So I walk into the bedroom and what do you think I see? Yup, both sound asleep. So I take a minute to think. Now don't forget, I have a bit of a temper. So I go into the other room and brake a leg off the diningroom chair. Standing there, chairleg in hand, I walk back to the bedroom. I stare at them for a few minutes, then put the leg down next to the bed, and leave. I decided it was much better to cut them both out of my life, than to beat them to death. I make it down to the car and I hear him yelling wait wait. I drove away. He called me up swearing nothing happened and so on, she swears they were talking and fell asleep. Whatever. You just don't cross that line. She asked why was the chairleg next to the bed. I said because I came within an inch of bashing your skull in but decided you are a skank and you two should live well and be happy.
The moral? choose your friends wisely, choose your mate wisley, and don't go to prison over a girl. Never spoke to them again. Oh, I saw her and she got really fat so thats an added bonus.

Please, share your friend screwed you over story! Or I will post more![:D]

<p align="justify">I've been burned quite a few times by people whom I thought were friends or, worse, people whom I thought I could trust and love. I think one of the main reasons why I take most things with a grain of salt or with a macabre sense of humour is due to the what some psychologists would term as a "coping mechanism". Shit, if I were to get really serious and place a lot of importance on the disappointing things other people do to me, I'd also want to bash their heads with a table leg - but I don't... I... just... stop... caring... about... them. This new-found ability to get over things fast might appear as a character flaw to others.

Dude not at all. You said it perfectly. I do the same thing. Life is too short to dwell on these people. And it is far better to just cut your losses and cut these negative people out of your life.

If you're talking solely about platonic friends and not ex-girlfriends from years and years ago (that would make a great thread BTW [B)]), I guess I've been really fortunate. I tried and tried and can't really think of anything terrible. Sure there have been a few inconsequential, duplicitous nobodies who've mistakenly thought they could bring me down but never anyone I considered a REAL friend. In fact, I'd go as far as to say I've actually enjoyed it when people have tried to betray me - the revenge I've extracted on various morons is the stuff of legend [:D]

Like Philly said "I do have a handfull of friends that I would trust my life with and I have known forever. They would never betray our friendship." Again, I'm fortunate.

XXX, I can't imagine anyone seeing the ability to laugh off everything a flaw; I'm the same way and I see it as a gift [8D]. It was a long time coming though. [:)]
