Case #1: you have a teacher who'd been at her job for many years, well-liked, who was found to have posed nude. Students came across said photos on the 'net. The pix were more of an "arty", or artfully posed variety, rather than a pr0nographic variety. When the principal found out, he asked her to resign. Do you think this was a reasonable request? This teacher had no disciplinary issues otherwise.

Case #2: an EA (Ed. assistant), 38, assisting in classes for several years with no problems. It was found out that 20 years previously (when she was 18), she had shot and killed her boyfriend. That situation, briefly, was that she claimed that the boyfriend was suicidal and depressed and wanted to end his life anyway. A jury sentenced her to 20 years, of which she served 4 & 1/2 years. She's still on probation for this 20-yr. old crime. Do you think she should still be in the classroom ?

Case 1 - Should not be fired. It's ridiculous that this is even an issue. I hope she sues the ignorant prudes.

Case 2 - Should be fired.

Case #1- not fired. Its not like she did it while working at the school.
Case #2- fired. You can't have a killer working in a class.

1. Reason says not fired, but it would be tough to teach those classes!
2. Convicted felons cannot teach in most states - for a reason

The school system gave her about $15K in exchange for her resignation. I don't think they should have fired her, but some people claimed that a few of the pictures went beyond arty. Since I never saw the pix, I can't say.`

Case 2: Should be fired.

Fire both. Art teacher should go on to teach in a more lax environment, away from those people, and save herself the irritation of explaining this to stoneheaded, Puritanic morons (gasp! Art teacher posing n00dz?! What a big surprise). I would have surely thought the parents and the school would've had more ulterior reasons to fire her because her photoshoots do not hide the fact she's a lez.
