Lets not forget it! I lost half my neighborhood so its in my face all the time but we need to make it a holiday or something so nobody forgets. On a side note, they actually have the plan for the buildings and it looks great. I am suprised. Enough plans, lets build!

Did'nt they already begin pouring the foundation?
A few of the TV stations are rebroadcasting the morning's events as they happened, in real time. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Never forget, of course not - hell no! But do we really need to relive the terror and horror on a second by second basis all over again? If I had a loved one who passed that day, the therapy I would have been taking for the past five years would probably be all destroyed.

We just have to PRAY that it wouldn't happen again.

Too bad the terrorists are always planning an attack, be it the US or else where in the world. [:(!] [V]
And that the 5-year anniversary of the event has turned into a political battleground for votes in our up-coming election for our US congress,
And that 9/11 programs are making up facts that are not real, shame on the media, and the effects it will have on many lives that were affected that day forever... on another note, another holiday would seem appropriate; however, since congress moved our labor day from May 1 to the first Monday in September, maybe we can move it back, and have a 9/11 holiday in it's place... but after a few decades, we'll forget what the day was all about, and will beconme another 3-day weekend get-away, or BBQ day/party. [:(]
And I really don't like the name of the day as Patriots Day because that has nothing to do with what we are observing, just my opionion... others are most welcome! [:)]

Many people pray all over the world... some are just more extreme than others in their religious zeal for their cause! Not taking any side in the matter... just like someone once said: "Someone's 'Freedom Fighter' is another's 'Terrorist.'"

LOL! I've missed the humor on this site. Some of you keep me in stitches.
And then there's this:

Which reminds me why I left in the first place. They say a picture is worth a thousand words...maybe you should just post pictures and stop typing.

I don't know what to say. It has been five years and I am so pissed about the whole thing. All those lives lost and we still haven't secured our country.
I guess all you can do is wish the families well and say a prayer to which ever god you believe in.
And I'm with Philly, lets start building already!

I agree. Patriots Day is retarded. I'd rather see an official holiday simply called 9/11. That's what everyone calls it anyway and any other name isn't really going to describe what happened. Unless of course, we go with "Inside Job Day" or whatever the Hebrew phrase is for "Controlled Demolition Day".

Watched the 9/11 documentary on CBS last night, that started out just covering a rookie NYC firemans first 9 months on the job but on September 11th turned into something the producers could never imagine. I can say I shed a few tears while watching it. Although a sad thing overall, it did display some the best qualities in human nature the compassion for others that you did not know and the heroic efforts of the men and women rescuers.

I suggest we save the lame-ass conspiracy theories 'til tomorrow.
Today I'll remember the victims of 9-11, I'll remember where I was and how the events affected me personally.
