someone of The Champs (Tequila) dies?

I didnt get all of it, but I heard something about someone of The Champs (Tequila) died Sept 21 or 22. All I heard was the song (Tequila) playing, and there was mention about someone associated with it died of cancer or something

(AP) HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - The man sometimes called the "godfather of Latin rock", Danny Flores, who played the saxophone and shouted the word "tequila!" in the 1950s hit song "Tequila!", has died. He was 77.

Flores, died Tuesday at Huntington Beach Hospital. He died of complications from pneumonia.

"Tequila!" went to No. 1 on the Billboard chart and won a Grammy in 1959. The song again became popular with a new generation after it was used in the 1985 movie "Pee Wee's Big Adventure."
