I figured people who dig the same music I do would dig the same movies. Any suggestions? And no, I don't intend this to be like the thread on the latest video watched (???) where we put in good and bad movies. I just need the good ones.

Anything by Kevin Smith is way up there for me. Except Jersey Girl, that was just wrong.

Curious. (and I know I can search this at imdb) What's the Last Supper about? The obvious?

Howdy Dar,
Not quite the obvious but "The Last Supper" is about a group of liberal friends who share a house in Iowa. One evening, one of the housemates has car trouble and is given a lift home from a passing motorist. As a way of saying thank you, the motorist accepts the roommates invitation to dinner. During dinner, the motorist becomes homophobic and attacks one of the roommates, who happens to be gay. The other roommates kill the motorist in self-defense and bury him in the backyard.

The roommates decide to take it a step further and rid the world of a bad person each Sunday night at dinner. Using the dinner as a way of interviewing and seeing if the world could go on without the dinner guest.

It has Courtney B Vance, Ron Perlman, Cameron Diaz, Anabeth Gish, Nora Dunn. I hope you'll check it out!

"Night Watch" is the Russian "Star Wars," a cosmic battle between good and evil in modern-day Moscow. The disc has both the dubbed and subtitled version. The book it's based on is good too.

I just bought the deluxe edition of Gus Van Sandts' My Own Private Idaho. That film always makes an impression. So well done.

Thanks for the additional info on the Last Supper. Sounds like something I'd like to catch.

And I also liked the Machinist.

Another movie I liked because I had the least expectations not knowing what it was about (it was classified as Horror, sheesh!) was the Jacket.

2 Dicks? ... well, maybe when there's nothing else. I often get a headache from these kinds of film, not because the content offends me. It's more of the bad acting.
