Every Tuesday. But a funny story once happened. Once they passed right by my house and forget all about my trash. I had to walk six miles trash in hand to take it to the local dump.

Every Tuesday morning, bright & early. I literally will jump out of bed if I hear the truck. Sometimes neighbors will leave a couch or something big out & I love watching them crush it in the truck. I Can't Miss That!!!!!!!

I guess I'm lucky. Where I live, they come Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. And I don't even have to drag it out to the curb. They come right up to my house and pick it up. Lawn and leaf refuse I have to bring to the curb for Wednesday pick ups. But I don't do that anymore now that I pay for landscaping. I do bring my recyclables to the curb for Friday pick ups.

Monday's & Thursday's for garbage and Wednesday for agriculture. We're not as fortunate here on the south shore as Marv is. We have to drag it to the curb.[:(!]

Ours come every other day--even weekends. We have aquired an extra skill of readying ourselves before the trashfolk come, otherwise we'd be stuck in the driveway upwards of 10 minutes while they wheel around the dumpsters and chat with each other.

Ours gets picked up on Tuesdays and Fridays. Naturally, we make the biggest messes over the weekend, so we get to live with a mountain of garbage in the garage until Tuesday ....

We have to haul ours to the dump (rather, "transfer station") because our lame-ass town doesn't offer trash pick-up. Geez, with our unbelievable property taxes, you'd think they could pick up our freaking trash!

Thursdays for us. I'd like to thank the "sanitation engineer" who recently dropped an ugly six foot wall mirror we wanted hauled away. It must of slipped while he was throwing it into the truck. He picked up the big pieces but I spent 15 minutes vacuuming the street so I didn't get glass shards in my tires. Good times.

A little off topic...

For the past six months some idiot in my neighborhood has been tossing soda bottles filled with the spit from chewing tobacco into the street in front of my house. Gross! [xx(][}:)] The first time I saw one in the gutter, I thought it was a full bottle of Dr. Pepper. Upon closer inspection, the chunks and viscous quality revealed it to be tobacco spittle. WTF??? Whoever is the rogue spitter has been tossing a bottle of the half-masticated syrup into the street regularly about once a week--and right in front of my house! WHY??? I end up having to pick it up and put it into my trash, because I certainly don't want it lying about in the gutter, especially when I'm trying to sell my house! A couple of times cars have driven over the bottles before I could dispose of them, spilling the spittle on the concrete.

If I want to trace the spitter, I certainly have enough DNA evidence. Buckets full. [xx(]

You're kidding me. That's the same exact trash pickup schedule my neighborhood follows! Every Tuesday and Friday I know I have to take my bags of trash out to the curb at the same time I'm getting ready to leave for work, because our trash guys can come by pretty early at times. I've been told that, on average, they swing on by by 9:00 AM. And I tote out my trash bags alone because I live on a busy street and our trash guys are very careless with the trash cans. Many of my neighbors have had their own trash cans just laying there on the street, waiting to get run over by the thousand-plus cars that whoosh on past every day. But I digress.

WOW! Those of you who have trash pickup TWO OR SEVERAL days a week....wowee wow is all I can say.
We get pickup once every two weeks (that's 14 days, folks!) on Weds. But at least they also pick up recyclables. Is this what our property taxes go towards? And why are your guys' property taxes apparently more garbage-oriented than mine ?!?

Holy cow! And I'm having a hard time with twice-a-week pickup. Before we moved, we had a Dumpster in the alley, so I could run the garbage out every night. Then, we moved here and I still can't get used to having trash around for a few days at a time. I can't imagine two weeks' worth!
