I hope that he will be remembered as someone who created and shared a safe haven for like-minded people. When I saw the film "Paris Is Burning" I didn't understand too much of the background of the movie; I dismissed so much of what was happening as "swishy." However, now that I've had time to reflect on what it was really about, I admire people like Willi for what they've done for others.
