Grocery store gripes

One of mine is grocers that have mentally or physically challanged persons as baggers. My last encounter resulted in almost half my groceries being put in the cart unbagged. I give the stores credit for allowing these people an oppurtunity for employment but they are being placed in service position and should be monitored. Nothing like having a big jar of Ragu or a two liter of pop put on top of your bread or eggs in a bag. I know its not pc to complain about persons with disabilities but the grocers are putting them in a position that directly effects customer service. So the next time Corky is bagging I'll be heading to the u-scan.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stop laughing! Corky!!!!!!
I'm just picturing him smashing all your stuff and the look on your face! Then he says "tank you" while he picks his nose. (oh I'm going to hell but it is funny)
You do have a good point. PC and peoples rights are good, but not if it takes away from everyone else. Imagine him as a fry cook at McDonalds and all the orders are wrong and the kitchen is on fire, or working the register and just handing out money.

Ha! Mine is the U-Scan of which you speak. Are you kidding me? I've gotta bag my own groceries? And I only get the lower price if I have one of those "shopper" cards?

I really dig on the dolts who stop in the middle of the aisle to talk with their friend, while their kids are running amok and blocking my passage.

One "mother" did this to me the other day, and I stood patiently waiting for the kids to move. The mother figure was exerting minimal effort to corral her kids. So, after about a half of a minute, I go, "Come on! Who's in control?" Ususally, I go the other direction and leave things be, but I wanted to vent that day.

I love the U-scans only because no one uses them & I can get in & out really fast & not have to deal with underpayed, overly snotty cashiers.

We have a huge chain here called Wegman's that build these superstores which are about as large as an airport. People seem to think they are town meeting places & spend most of their time visting with friends & relatives in the middle of the aisle. Are they that busy that they have to schedule "catch-up time" while doing groceries? Pick up a fucking phone sometime.

I also hate people on cellphones clogging up aisles. "Is it the one with the red label or the green label? The 3 gallon size is on sale - should I get it? Do we have tortelini?" Jeez - use your own best judgement. Everyone, including your wife on the other end of the phone will appreciate you much, much more.

Don't get me started on "Senior Bus day."

Assisted & independent living facilities each have grocery days where they ship the seniors in on a bus & stay for...ohhhhhh 22 hours.
Ever shop for groceries with a herd of 90 year olds who can't walk, read labels or hear each other, then ask why they don't sell Dr. Tennenbaum's Dropsy Powder anymore.

Honestly, I understand that they need to get out & get groceries & I don't mind helping them get that 50 lb bag of cat litter down off the shelf. It's just a pain when you're trying to run in for for your meth lab supplies & you get stuck behind the herd.

Oh, I love the self scan options at the grocery store. I hate when I'm at a supermarket that doesn't have that option because it means I have to deal with someone else checking me out, and I've become OCD to the point where that kinda drives me batty. The only drawback to those locally is that the only ones I've seen have a 20-item limit, so I can't do my full grocery shopping list that way.

I don't mind the Down's syndrome people who do bagging at this one store that has a lot of them. They get trained really well and do some of the best bagging jobs I've seen. What really sucks is when the (non mentally challenged) bagger can't be arsed to think logically and put like fifteen cans into one bag, rendering it insanely heavy. Um, yeah, hello? I have to climb up stairs and go through the entry foyer and family room with my groceries!

I also hate it when people clog up the aisles through general carelessness and/or cluelessness. That's what I encounter the most, unfortunately. Also, parents with not enough sense to control their children, to the point where I have to have the agility of an NFL quarterback to get through. Do parents not know how to parent anymore? Are we so messed up in this society that we can't even bother to let parents control their kids? I know my parents would have never let me get away with ANYTHING. Not that I'd try; by the time I was old enough to go to school, all my parents had to do was give me a look and I'd know to behave if I was wise.

I know the kinds of seniors being alluded to. I have a relative who's one of those. But I manage to avoid them by shopping on Friday night. Which means I run into the terror bratlings, but... oh well. Some children are still well behaved and those children are sights for sore eyes, let me tell you.

I usually call the nearest grocery store and let them deliver stuff at my doorstep![:p]

I once ordered orange juice and they wrongly sent me cocktail- I was really pissed! Funny, I ended up liking it and had been ordering it since then.[:D]

I hate looking at coupons in grocery stores. Years ago--yeah great-save 50 cents on Ragu--triple it--voila-instant 1.50 savings!!!

Now? Save 40 cents when you buy 6????? Please, give me a break. I dont even bother anymore.

Hundreds of shopping carts and I manage to pick the one out with the defective wheel on it.

The first and the fifteenth of every month, when all the human waste simultaneously hits their mini-lotteries and descends on the store with freshly recharged EBT (food stamp) cards. The smell in the stores literally changes. There's nothing quite like the combined stenches of stale cigarette smoke, cat urine, body odor, cheap laundry detergent (if they even bother to use it), and desperation to put me in the mood to pick out my food.

Also - kids, old people, dumb people, and the morbidly obese. They should have their own stores. On second thought, I guess they do - Price Chopper. [xx(]

I don't like chatty cashiers. Just shut up, scan my stuff and let me go.

I also don't like the ones who investigate what I'm buying. I don't know why. The last time this happened, the cashier held up a bag of shredded cheese and said she'd never bought a bag of cheese like that before. C'mon, lady. You're 85 years old (at least), and you've never bought a bag of shredded cheese? My cheese led to a conversation about what it was for (burritos), my accent (Texas) and how I must like to eat beans on everything. Um, OK.

I'm nice, but inside I was to scream. I just want out of there. I hate grocery shoppping with a passion, so by the time I get to poor old Elsie who has never bought a bag of cheese, I'm coming unglued. I hate the kids who run wild, the retards who have family reunions in the middle of the aisles and the people who have parked their carts in front of the frozen pizza I want while they are 10 feet away looking at frozen peas. MOVE YOUR SHIT!

The grocery store I shop at is only a medium-sized hangar. They're known for low prices, but a Wal-Mart is being built nearby. So they're starting to go upscale. They've eliminated the aisles for baby clothes and toys and are giving us loads of gourmet options on everything edible.

Attention store managers. I do not need to have 168 varieties of couscous to chose from. I have gotten along just fine without tangerine and fig flavors of balsamic vinegar. Where the hell is my regular old brand anyway? Oh, there it is on the bottom shelf. I guess it's not a potential money maker any more. If I wanted to shop at Whole Foods, I would go to Whole Foods.

I ALWAYS choose the line with the person that must argue about a price. And they are wrong every time! And they fight over like...7 cents! I watched an old man and his wife argue about soup. It was so fuckin funny. Get the soup. I don't want the soup. Get the soup. I don't want the soup. You will be sorry later. I don't want the soup. But you love the soup. Don't tell me what I love. I don't want it. This went on for about 5 minutes then he said his reason. Why should I buy the soup now when in a few days it will be 3 cents cheaper. 3 CENTS! Trust me, they were not poor, just old, cheap and crazy!
