console televisions. Yes, the wood-clad monstrosities from yesteryear are still available. I saw one quoted for $100 less than I got my LCD tv for. Hey, if you buy one today, do you think you can get a discount on a videodisc player? It's like the Brady bunch movie all over again.

Like, really, come on. That's like looking in a Sears Roebuck catalog and finding way deep down in some obscure section that women's girdles from the 1800s are STILL available.

EDIT: Okay the one from Zenith on Amazon was discontinued, but it was discontinued in 2002. Weeeird.


12 inch vinyl from today's artists do not count in this thread.

So what have you seen that's still availble for purchase, that you thought was long extinct?

Last I checked Radio Shack still sold 8-track tape players!

Remember that tube of tar-like gunk you'd buy with a straw? You'd take a little glob of the purple tar, put it on the end of the straw & blow. Then you'd have some purple balloon-type of thing that looked like a rotten bladder?

I saw that stuff in the store the other day. I was really suprised because I assumed it was toxic.

Did anyone else ever chew the stuff? Of course I did...

Its called Super Elastic Bubble Plastic. Quick way to poison your kids and yes...I had it.

I loved wizzers! If I saw it today I would buy one.

Popeye cigarettes...saw them for the first time in years in a corner store (except now they're called "candy sticks"). I was going to buy them, but I wasn't sure just how long they'd been there!

I remember staying summers with my grandmother and these were sold at a convenience store near her house. I actually bought my kids some a few weeks ago. It was the first time I had seen them (beans, not the kids!) in about 25 years.
