I have one. Laserblast. Saw it a week ago. It weirded me out. A perfect combination of bad music, creepy stop-motion aliens(and their talking), and about 20 other factors in this movie.

What's yours:?

One from my youth would be "The Legend Of Boggy Creek". It came out in 72, it was a docu-drama about a bigfootish creature somewhere in Arkansas. My parents allowed me to come with them to see it, I was almost 8 and was scared shitless the next few nights at bedtime after seeing it.

Well... I went to film festival yesterday and all I saw was somewhere between bizarre, creepy and weird... certainly I was freaked by some the stuff I saw (there was this story "Autophagia" that was really outrageous).

The Hills Have Eyes.

But even worse was In The Mouth Of Madness! Still weirds me out. Its about hell coming to earth. Everyone realises that everything they do has been written in a book. Once you read it you go mad!

I bought Laserblast about a year ago at a used furniture store, yeah weird right? They had an entire shelf filled with discounted movies on VHS and I bought a handful and have not watched one. I suppose I will watch Laserblast since it has a weird appeal to it and was mentioned here on the board. Just by looking at the cover it looks like a silly Godzilla spin off. Anyway, back on topic one movie that really freaked me out as a kid was Fantasia

Jeez I saw Boggy Creek too. I lived in a pretty swampy rural area & I was convinced that thing was somewhere out there!

I remember "When Michael Calls" freaked me out - about the little ghost boy who kept calling his aunt asking why she left him out in the cold (he died in a blizzard.)

For some reason, Attack of the Giant Leeches really, really freaked me out. I think it was the guy pleading & pleading not to be eaten when he was trapped in the Giant Leeches lair....

Strange but excellent, in my opinion.

With the late Ian Dury! [:)]

I loved that movie! Have you ever seen the (bad) sequel Return To Boggy Creek? It starred Dana Plato and Dawn Wells ("Mary-Anne" from Gilligan's Island).

One movie that really creeped me out when I was little was that 1970s silent French sci-fi cartoon La Planete Savage which was retitled The Fantastic Planet in English. Man! Did that film confuse, terrify, mesmerize and genuinley baffle me! Still sort of creeps me out even though I love it.

"Bad" as in good, or "bad" as in deplorable?

If the former, then it would have to be the 1931 Dracula. It was on TV when I was but a wee lad, and I had to sleep with the lights on for I don't know how long afterwards.

If the latter, then it would have to be "Dogville." Not only was it horrible, it set me in a bad mood for a whole week.

The Sound Of Music and The Wizard Of Oz.

Although not movies, Underdog and Gumby are pretty damned freaky as well. Also that little bastard in the Mazda commercials that whispers "Zoom Zoom". I wish they'd use him for crash tests.

"Eraserhead" always bothered me, but I'm not sure you can call it "bad". Disturbing for sure.

As for a truly bad movie that still creeped me out, I'd say "Race with the Devil" - one of a crop of many corny but somehow disturbing early 70's horror movies. This one had Loretta Swit, Warren Oates, and Peter Fonda on a vacation in an RV trying to escape from Satan worshipers. To this day I don't feel safe in any small town. Just noticed it's being remade for a 2008 release.
