Yup, he came out of the closet. Good. I have a friend for like 20 years and he still has not told anyone. That sucks. Maybe with more people admitting what they are, more people can feel safe coming out themselves. I really don't get what the big deal is. Good for you doogie- Neil Patrick Harris!

I'm waiting for the day that I don't have to read another "coming out" story. I mean, why is it even an issue? Why can't people just be what they are and not have to explain anything?

I totally agree but untill then, it is good when someone in the spotlight shows others its ok.

Unfortunately, it is an issue because this country is still filled with hatemongers that have managed to gain a fairly strong baseof power in the USA. Much like the KKK with blacks, the religious right has managed to cloak their hatred of gays behind a falsified religious argument. The fact that they've been allowed to become a mainstream movement is insanity.

Philly, is your friend reluctant because of family issues or just general social acceptance? It is a majorly complicated issue. It's good that you can help support him. Much respect to you for that.

Does anyone watch the show Neil Patrick Harris is on, "How I Met Your Mother"?
It is often funny as hell. He is great in it.

That works, too. We've had three (3) famous people come out recently. And guess what? They all did so because the gossip rags were all over them like flies on a mound of dung. Which, coincidentally, Perez Hilton bears a striking resemblance to.

So why do they have to explain it? Well, you know, I think it's better to hear it directly from the source than from the National Enquirer.
