New Wave Outpost Forum

Lurking around the Outpost is something I'm sure many of us are guilty of at one time or another. What's your reason for lurking without a reply to the topics you read ?

The fact that this thread has been read more than 300 times before anyone writes a reply might show there are more lurkers than expected [}:)]

In my case, the reason for not replying is a mix of several, so I've gone with the 'Other (please explain)' option. These reasons are mainly the lack of interest on certain topics discussed here (most times because I don't know what or who other members are talking about - I'm not an expert in US society, celebrities, etc. -), the lack of time to read/write posts and my laziness (writing in English needs an extra effort from me since it's not my first language)

I am a huge lurker or ghost.My main reason for not replying is lack of time followed by lack of knowledge on the post.But I still enjoy reading the posts that interest me.I stated this months back not to expect alot out of me.

Just wanted to see how many members also do not like the Kimiiii bashing , that's all. You must learn how to chill Nero .

The first 2 years the forum was open (except for the Spring and Summer of 2003, which was before I realized a forum had been added), it was pretty much "replies are not my thing." Now it is one and/or more of the following...

* I don't give a toss about the group being discussed, but for some reason am interested in what other people have to say about them.

* I wasn't clever enough to come up with something as witty as the other people in the thread already came up with.

* Opera Prima stole my answer.

* fanciz started the thread, and I'm anticipating seeing people make an ass eel of him. (Hey, at least it's not more kimiiii bashing.)

* World War III broke out again, but the war doesn't involve me. (And besides, it's more fun to sit by the sidelines and watch "hate6" rip somebody else a new one. Especially fanciz.)

* I post too damn much already.

It's funny how it's bashing when certain people here voice opinions, and innocent commentary when other board members spout off. If my comments are considered to be bashing, so be it...that isn't going to change.

Uh, rubeet...Kimiiiii brought it on herself with practically her first return post, directing us how and when to respond to her posts. Even if I didn't have an idea what kind of character she was before, that sure did confirm it.

Rubeet, please don't make a fool of yourself by championing someone who has a history on this site of using and abusing the members here. It just makes you look guilty by association, and I'd hate that, since I consider you a helluva nice girl.
