I just got back from the new Casino Royale, possibly one of the best Bond flicks ever imho. A huge bonus was Eva Green, who left me agog and agasp! Anyway, don't read any reviews, don't watch any previews. Just go see it knowing nothing and expecting nothing...well, except for what that jackass Blir just said. Anyway, this all begs the question, who's the greatest Bond girl? My best stab at the top 15. Apologies in advance for omissions.

A thread I missed? How strange.

Green struck me in a big way in the otherwise "eh" Kingdom of Heaven. I can understand the votes here for Andress. She was the prototype after all. But I do think there's some rose-colored glasses here...her character really was pretty 2D. Now personally, I thought my allegiance would forever be to Carole Bouquet, but Green's shaken that mightily.

Blir - watch "The Dreamers" for some good Eva scenery. [:)]

It actually looks pretty interesting, with some of thematic similarity to Godard's classic "Masculin Feminin". I just sounded like a pompous ass, didn't I? Oh well. [B)]

I had a thing for Barbara Bach ever since I saw here in one of my Dad's Playboy's!

Famke Janssen made my sister turn gay! And I think that might explain her move to Amsterdam too. [;)]

But I always thought Jane Seymour was very pretty. And she still looks great.

Ahh, Blir you forgot one..Lois Chiles as Dr. Goodhead (!) in Moonraker, the second worst double entendre name after Pussy Galore.
As a CIA agent she had more depth and personality than the average Bond girl--and I thought she was quite fetching in that movie even if she is not the most, um, pneumatic Bond girl (read Barbera Bach).

Of the ones listed I'd go with Diana Rigg in OHMSS. As Tracy (Bond) Di Vicenzo she was beautiful, strong willed, and could kick ass nearly as much as Bond himself. And those legs.....[:p]

I saw Casino Royale last week (I'm a pretty big Bond fan). I thought it was quite good and Craig did put a new stamp on the character--even though I thought the movie played it too much like having Bond becoming Jason Bourne. I would have liked to seen a bit more sophistication in Bond than Craig and the movie played it-although a possible reason for this is that this is the prototypical Bond just after he beocomes a 00 agent. One interesting Blooper (or miscue) is that Craig's Bond did not seem to know any foreign languages. Unlikely since he was recruited into MI-6 after studying languages at Cambridge.

Still lots of action, a good plot-and I agree that I'm going to have to see the Dreamers just to see, um , more of Eva Green.

Tough call for sure. I almost added her at the expense of Grace Jones or Michelle Yeoh, but then figured there might be fans of the quirky or ass-kicking variety. Good Head on the other hand could be found in many a Bond movie. Plus Moonraker was just godawful, especially the cheapass special effects with the space station blowing up and pieces just fall off - not even back toward earth mind you, just falling back down to the stage. Really ridiculously bad.

And Bach...I never understood the attraction there. Neck up, she's kinda mannish and blunt featured. Give me a sexy sophisticated siren any day. My picks probably go Green > Bouquet > Blackman > Rigg. Or maybe Bouquet > Green > Rigg > Blackman. Argh.

Agree with you about Barbera Bach--although I guess she's Ringo's Type (BTW are they still married? Anyone know?)

Moonraker is always listed near the bottom of "best of" polls--although I have kind of a "it's so bad, it's good" feeling about the movie. And it does have my favorite Q-Branch gadget (after the Lotus that turns into a sub): the wristwatch dart thrower I thought was pretty cool.

Your list pretty closely mirrors mine--Michelle Yeoh would be in there somewhere. Although as someone else mentioned in another thread--I wouldn't kick any of them out of bed for eating crackers. You may need about a week in intensive care after Grace Jones, however.[;)]
