I'm drooling as I type [;)]

I actually called it some sixteen months ago in this thread:

<br>.....one of my best friends shares office space with someone who's married to a pretty high up employee in Apple's R&D department. He says they have a working prototype iPod/phone/camera unit that is scheduled to be introduced to market within the next sixteen months. They're still working out the size.[/quote]

That $499 entry level price is a little steep. But not really, considering what it offers. I'll have to go to an Apple store and give it the once over myself before I can definitively answer.

Personally, I'm more excited about Apple TV:

I cant even put into words how upset I am with Apple and the ipod.
I've had 3 ipods litterally self destruct on me within the warranty period and was denied replacements all 3 times. They said it all 3 were a result of abuse.

First ipod - All of the sudden "cant find hard disk icon", clicking sound from inside ipod. never been dropped, in a protective case. Apple says it was not covered.

Second ipod - Never leaves my desk, never dropped. One day a cloudy blue leak on the screen and no picture. Best Buy says (and I bought the extendo warantee) could only happen as a result of "involuntary abuse". Told them it was never dropped and they said it could have happened putting it into my pocket. Apple says the same thing.

Third ipod - Bought girlfriend an ipod mini. it falls off the bed, litterally onto a pillow and never works again. Apple says "not covered"

Needless to say, Apple can shove their ipods up their collective arses. [V]

They make great computers though [:D]

I saw one of Microsoft's Zune players for the first time this weekend. I thouhgt the widescreen and sound quality were excellent, but really blows it away, as usual.

I wish I could take my holiday bonus and buy one of these babies -- but no the heater on my car died just as the weather started turning colder. [:(][:(][:(]

Apple's "1984" commercial has become perversely prescient.
