I see where Nancy Pelosi's minimum wage increase covered the entire US and all it's territories except for American Somoa, where Starkist tuna employees 75% of the island population. Funny Starkist's parent company is Del Monte whose corporate headquarters are located in San Francisco, Pelosi's home district. The Dems ran on change, reform, and doing the peoples will. Just the same old same old.

While I agree with you that I'm not surprised massive reform is not yet taking place in congress (first of all they are less than two weeks into the new congressional session, second of all I'm convinced our current two party system has (de)volved into a program where significant reform is almost impossible to attain) I'm still hopeful that SOME congressional oversight of the "approching-monarchy" power of the executive branch occurs before any more of our civil liberties are erroded.[V]

Let's hope that our two party system does not (de)volve into an executive organization that we'd have to refer to as the "politburo" or better yet "The Ministry of Silly Walks" [;)]

Actually Marie its not. If you watch Hanity and Commes (sic) and most of the other programs, both sides are presented. Yes does seem to be pro Bush but it is also pro American. The way I see it you would have to be one sided to not see that Dems are given just as much of a voice as Reps. on all the issues covered.

What companies pay for major advertising? What politicians sit on what boards of what companies? It is all connected my friends.If you own a paper or news show and run stories that show your invisible bosses in a bad light, you won't be in business very long.

I can't watch or listen to Sean Hannity without shouting back at the television, and my therapist says that's just not healthy.

Showing two extreme positions does nothing to further debate in this country nor does it better inform the viewing public. It is done as entertainment and to get ratings. Do you really believe there are only two sides to issues anyway? Few of these twits are able to speak for me or anyone I know. You might as well put two bumper stickers on camera and roll tape. Maybe the Jesus Fish can take on the Darwin Fish in a steel cage match.

I find the phrase "pro-American" to be odd. I personally find independent media, of all sides, to be far more "American" than the corporate shills. If O'Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, or *insert liberal talk show moron here* (I don't listen to liberal tak radio,so I apologize for not knowing any names) start losing an argument, they resort to shouting down their guests, cutting off their mics, or kicking them off of the shows. They don't believe in free speech, just speech that gets them book deals and more income. And Fox currently seems to believe that any criticism of a president during wartime qualifies the critic as being un-American or potentially traitorous, yet they had no problem with it when Clinton was in office. They are as corrupt as William Jefferson, Tom DeLay, Bob Ney, Jack Abramoff, or any of these shitfucks staining this country.
