This morning, I was re-arranging some features on our mobile phone accounts, and was congratulated by the CSR for having over 19 years of uninterrupted service with them. Needless to say, I was a bit shocked that it had been that long.

It got me thinking about others and their mobile phone history, if any. I've had the same mobile number for the whole 19 years, but some people I know seem to change it every 6 months or so. (am I missing a hint here)

So my question: how long have you been enslaved to your mobile?

I avoided getting a cel phone for as long as I could. My wife decided enough was enough and bought me one for Christmas, 2000. I've been enslaved since.....with the same number.

Mine is 3 years although my last one was 10 years!

My first phone was a Nokia that cost me about $1300.00. I must have been nuts to spend that type of money, but it was so easy to justify back then.

My first mobile phone was bought in the mid-1990s. I remember that it had a super-long antenna. I then bought a bag phone around 1998-99; it was enormous. The receiver was the size of a normal house phone and it even had a curly telephone cord on it.

I've had three phone numbers over the last 5 years. I had to change it when I went from one provider to another. When we moved, I kept my Texas number for several months, but finally broke down and got a local number.

I got a trac phone about 6 or 7 years ago. I used it once to call for pizza. That was really the only reason I got it. I thought "Wouldn't it be cool if when I'm out running around, I could call Pizza Hut & pick it up on the way home."

I have some kind of cell phone now. I've had it for about 3 years & probably have used it 10 times. I don't know why I'm so resistant to them. Maybe I'd be less resistant if I had Pizza Hut on speed dial.

Al my cells are company issued, however my email at yahoo dates back to 96'

I'm convinced one of the main reasons cell phones were invented was to facilitate the impromptu ordering of pizzas...at least that's my excuse.

I wish my celphone last that long. My first 2, Philips and Nokia were both snatched in Manila. Cellfones are hot items among the snatchers here. [:D][:D]
