Super Bowl halftime shows

OK, why is it every year we get a Super Bowl halftime show of classic rockers we haven't heard from in a decade or more playing the same old songs. Certainly Prince showed is he still has a lot of energy.

But think about all the acts in recent years:

The Rolling Stones
Janet Jackson (OK, so she had Justin Timberlake with her)
Paul McCartney
U2 (I know a lot of NWO members would like them every year)
Aerosmith

We need some newer acts. I watched Prince and was reasonably impressed. But usually I just tune out the halftime show and go cook more pop corn or grab a beer.

...Well I couod answer my own question. I know WHY. They're trying to appeal to a wide audience.

But come on, we need something more interesting like The Killers for example.

Consider yourselves lucky. 1969's half-time show was Carol Channing...

I watched the pants off- dance off marathon. You got to love that show.

I happened to come across something called "The Puppy Bowl" on Animal Planet. How strange...hours of puppies playing on a replica of a football field. They were pretty cute, but who watches that??

I also saw a bit of the "half-time show" which was a bunch of kittens doing nothing while they played old disco songs. I was hoping they'd let the puppies loose on them to liven things up.
