An 80's Time Capsule
Posted: Sun Mar 25, 2007 3:10 pmYesterday I was playing baseball in my front yard with my two boys and a neighbor kid and someone hits the ball into some thick juniper bushes by my driveway.
I look under the bushes to get the ball and notice something flourescent orange. I reach in and see that it's a fragment of a plastic newspaper bag. No, it's a complete newspaper. I reach in and pry it from the dirt and juniper needles. I'm thinking it was from the winter or maybe last year. I brush off the dirt and look at the date: April 2, 1986. I'll always remember that date because it was the day of a Lloyd Cole & the Commotions show at a local club that turned out be a bust, as well as the very day I met my girlfriend.
So I opened it and read up on what the Reagan administration has been up to. Weird.
