Sinkings, food poisonings, disease, the crowds, bad "entertainment", waste dumping into the sea, and the occasional lost spouse overboard...what's the attraction again? You will NEVER find me on a cruise ship. Give me a beach on a deserted island, say like the back side of Lanai or somewhere.

I have been on about 15 cruises and never once got sick, and have never fallen overboard!

I have no real desire to go on a cruise. I would rather pay the money to go to Spain or maybe Austria on then wing on over to Canada and party with Eight6. or something like that [;)]

At which point he'll knock you over the head with a blackjack, toss you into a steamer trunk, and dump you into the hold of a cruise ship bound for China.

I've also never been attracted to taking a cruise, either. I like to go to places, walk around, get lost, observe the local stuff, and cruises don't provide what I want.

Same here. If I were trapped with all those people and germs and etc., I'd probably jump overboard.

I'm on board with you guys!(ouch) Never wanted to go on one, never will. Oh and you forgot pirates blir. No kidding on that either. Pirates do go after these ships. But I'm just grossed out by the germ thing all the time. Don't they wash their hands?

I have to admit I've never been on a cruise ship and have no present plans to go on one. I suppose if I were to try a cruise it would not be the standard Mexico, Carribean type thing, but I've heard Alaska cruises are pretty cool or perhaps a Mediterranean cruise to see the a lot of areas (Greek Isles, Italy etc) for a relatively low price.

NuWaveRx,
even though I just deprecated cruise ships, the Alaskan one is COOL. It's a fantastic chance to see whales, glaciers, and wildlife up close that you would never otherwise see. In southeastern AK, ships are the ONLY way to get around anyway, so it's unavoidable up there. Astounding scenery!

That one sounds great! And you can get leprosy just for going!

That does seem to be a concensus among even non-cruise people. I could definitely go for that, especially if it included a couple days off for hiking around Denali.
