since some of you took the rick nelson/intakes thread wrong (i never said it was a new wave release etc...)i mentioned that the 4 bonus tracks on the cd were from the new wave series from cbs/epic records campain called,,,,NU-DISK.
this was an awesome campain from epic records to introduce the record buying public to some new artists that epic was marketing as "new wave",that never released any albums before in the states.
since mini ep's (lp's) was the new norm back then for a newly signed (unknown) artist/band for a record label to promote etc...& offer a very nice price for the product,since the record buying public never heard of the group etc..the public was more likely to lay down $5.00 for an artist they never heard of then the normal $8.00 to $10.00 for the album.
the Nu-Disk campain also included some older artists/bands that epic was promoting/marketing under the "new wave" banner.
here's the releases that were released on the epic records/NU-DISK series,which sold for only $5.00 and each release contained 4 songs.

GARY GLITTER "GLITTER & GOLD"
THE CONTINENTALS "FIZZ POP WONDER ROCK"
NINA HAGEN BAND "WHITE PUNKS ON DOPE"

there may be more releases but i don't know. if you can find any of these releases grab them up.
i think there's some available on....ebay usa/musicstack/gemm

Yes, I'll likely make the only valid response to your original post Georgie, but no I don't have any. I WAS always intrigued by this very "nu" wave-oriented series/campaign. They should have done them in colored vinyl -- that would have really made them attractive but perhaps cost prohibitive from a manufacturing standpoint.

but,most of the bands were for the most part,"new musik".
i bought all the nu-disk's listed at the time. i think the most interesting were,,,,propaganda "calling on moscow" & the continentals "fizz pop wonder rock". it's a shame that i've never seen any more releases from those 2 groups since.
like i said,,if you look on ebay,you can probaly find some of these releases & i know on musicstack right now,there's some available on there.
they were pretty cool releases at the time for being 10",but the problem i always had for the nu-disk's was that they always had to be in the front of all my albums cause of the size of them and i could never get a plastic sleeve for the album cover cause of the size & i could never get a dust sleeve cause of the size of the vinyl,,,but they were fun releases !!!!!!!
i know the NU-DISK campain was very successful for epic records cause i saw them displayed in all the local record stores & they were so inticing cause of the $5.00 price.
a few of my friends had bought them too..............

Well, we can't all be accomplished lyricists like yourself Bernie.

I'm betting nobody here has the disks. Why? Who knows...it probably has to do with the fact they (NU DISK series) have fuck all to do with New Wave, other than the fact you and your pea brain seem to have made a connection between the two.

Sorry for rambling, I seem to be incapable of the clear, concise thought process that makes legions of NWO'ers hang on every word you post.
