Brace yourself.
We're going to hear a lot about Paris Hilton in the next few weeks. We'll hear some whining from her camp, pleas from her posse of fans and general groans from the rest of us.
But because we're stuck with the coming onslaught - I'm taking it upon myself to filter the information just for you, my friends. It's the least I can do.
I know it's bad manners to laugh at the misfortune of others but some of the stuff being reported is just plain makes me chuckle. For example:
Pardon me? Hilton fans are asking Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for a pardon of her 45-day jail sentence, the Associated Press said. They've started a petition to show their support.
Meanwhile, up in Sacramento, Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear said "it would be premature for the governor to get involved until the individual has exhausted his or her judicial remedies."
Fan uprising: So, maybe you're in the camp in that believes a grave injustice has been served, that Hilton deserves compassion and all that jazz. You're in luck. There are others like you out there and they're organized. Here's how you can help: Sign the above-mentioned petition at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/PH21781/. Visit the Free Paris Web site (http://freeparis.org). The site outlines the important steps you can take to lend help the heiress -
including how to buy "Free Paris" T-shirts and hoodies.
Bottom line: This could turn out to be Hilton's best publicity campaign yet.
