Dodged THAT bullet
Well, I am so flooded with relief right now that I thought I'd post this story as a PSA, especially since most of us here (or wives/GFs) are getting to be that age . . .
I recently had a breast cancer scare that freaked me out so much that I didn't tell anyone in the "real" world (except Mr. Hex) about it.
Some time ago I'd noticed some heaviness but I didn't think it felt that unusual and my baseline mammogram two years ago was OK, so I just ignored it. I went to see a new primary care doc for a problem with my foot, and he said, well, since you're here, let's do a physical. He was pretty concerned about how my boob felt and sent me off for further tests.
Several mammograms and ultrasounds later, I met with the radiologist today. Diagnosis: unusually firm breasts! HAHAHAHAHA! Hey, it's not the worst thing to hear at the age of 41! I love my 34Bs and am relieved to hear that the girls are healthy.
Anyway--ladies (and gents, for your SOs), let this be a reminder to check your boobs and make sure your doc knows about anything that seems unusual or different.
