Promo cds

this might be a stupid question, sorry
Promo cd's, the ones with barcodes punched with a hole, not made for sale. Do those have inferior sound to the regular cd's? I don't think they do, but still i ask for input

Funny, I always thought the opposite. You hand out a promo, wouldn't you want it to have the best sound as possible? It's a promo used to get attention for possible airplay. Shitty sound, no airplay.

Still on the promo issue.....how many of you stay away from promos because of the hole or the groove cut into it? I have no qualms about them at all. As long as the CD or LP wasn't damaged, I'll buy it.

No sound difference... the only difference is someone got it for free from the record company to play on the air, Dj, and/or review is for media, AND tyhe artists was charged for it, as all promos get charged to the artists as promotins; hence; the "Not for Resale" label, punch, or cut. It was easier to do with recoprds as the cardboard sleeve lent itself better to the stamping and punching, no so with the plastic CD cover.
