The difference is that New Coke didn't give people a choice. At least kids have better music now than the rap-rock which tortured the world years ago. And these groups are creating interest in the old stuff. I can't believe how many twentysomethings are into Echo & the Bunnymen here because of Coldplay's constant name-dropping of them.
